My 91 Silverado has a 4 speed AOD the indicator reads P.R.N.D.3.2.1. Is the Ford AOD indicator the same?
No the AOD shifter in a Mustang just has, P.R.N.D.2.1 I used a stock shifter on mine and Im sure your stock shifter will work too. Keeps it looking clean and factory. Or maybe it was P.R.N.OD.D.1 Either way it had the same 3 positions. But if left in 2 it will still shift into 3rd at the right speed. Now to race it and manual shift you start at 1, shift to 2, when you want 3 you go to D but go back to 2 to hold it in 3 and keep it out od OD.
Ok thanks Ryan. All the Fox Bodies I saw yesterday at a local yard were marked P.R.N.D.2.1. that had me confused. Im probably going with a Hurst Promatic II
02 transmission could be a 4R70W.... The AOD is trhe first in that series, then AODE and finally the 4R70W. The AODE is electrically shifted hydraulic actuated and the 4R70w is electrically shifted and electronically controlled for all operations - even pressure. The 4R70w is also a wide ratio transmission.
