for the people who lived through the 60's 70's and 80's

was black bumpers the "thing" bakc then??? im trying to figure out why the person i bought it from painted the bumpers black...

im trying to figure out a nice way of putting this without calling people old

 

ive had a few old cars with chrome bumpers except they were rusty, pitted and just plain nasty

painting them black or some other color seemed like a good cheap fix.

 

I've lived through some of the 60's, 70's, 80's & 90's, and I've never painted any bumpers on any car I've ever owned black. I would think the reason it was painted was the person that had it before you was cheap or may have had poor taste?, and it was just a car, nothing special, so they painted with some paint they had lying around, because if they had the money to buy the paint, they would have had money and never bought a Maverick to begin with ???....

I don't believe it was, I prefer chromed bumpers, but I have to admit the bumper on FishOutOfWater's grabber blends in nice with that orange.

my 70's bumpers were done in body but i'd much rather have them chromed

guys, im talking about if, for example, my cars blue, my big bumpers are black, doesnt look to good
