Welp the Ford Master Parts Catalog says differently... That's where I got the C6DZ-6375-A number, plugged it into net and came up with list I posted... The earlier ones('65-prior) do use a 8.5" clutch with 132T flywheel... Be a good idea to check yours but I'm bettin' my info is correct...
The one thing stated in the link is the 8.5" clutch uses a three bolt starter and the 9" uses a two bolt, assuming that's correct should be a easy way to ID... BTW notice all the vehicles are 1966/newer, would appear all went to the 9" clutch at that point, probably with the introduction of Bronco.. Can't really see a Bronco with 170 or 200 having the smaller clutch...
Apparently the easy way is check bell housing mount to engine... In the pict notice the 9" bell pattern top bolts are all the way at top of block while the 8.5" are a inch or so below it... For as much as those guys should know, I'm going to say they are sorely lacking on ID/cross reference... If your bell mounts at top of block you have 9"...
Warped, and I was told most likely the WHOLE flywheel is warped and will not be able to be cut. So if true, just trying to cover my bases.
In my case, if you don't rev the motor high enough the dash and the steering column will shake. Clutch itself is good it's just the flywheel. Just an annoyance. I think the old man who was the original owner rode the clutch. That will do it!
