I did the 250/302 swapa a few weeks ago and after everything was hooked up, it was time to go to the exhaust shop. I opted for 2.5 duals with 2 40 series Flowmasters. Man...40s sound great on thiese cars! Anyone considering exhaust, seriously consider those! My interior is out right now and the car is stripped (no hood, windows or doghouse) and ready for paint but I think once it's put back together, it won't be too loud inside. Also, thanks to all on this board that helped me by answering my question so quickly and correctly! She's going to paint tomorrow so I will post pics when she's done!

    Later,
    Josh

Did you exit the exhaust from the back, or did you just turn down under the car?

My experience (opinion) is that under the car, the sound gets old. It tends to drone.
Out the back is much better for people in the car, same for the outside world.

I agree with Ratio. Mine exit in front of the rear axle and drone it does! Very loud car, but I like it!

Mine dump down before the rear axel but the tailpipes are turned slightly outward. I don't mind the noise but let's talk again after I've been driving it a while. However I'm putt a pretty sweet stereo in so maybe that will help!

I had mine dumped just before the axle as well.
Don't get me wrong, it was REALLY nice sounding, but I kept a set of turbos with turndowns on them, set aside...
Every couple of months I would rotate the turbos on for a while to break up the constant drone. Just for a short while, then I would jones for the Flows again.
Out the back, the car sounds the same outside, but is much better in the passenger area.

    Wassup with the stereo????
I alway thought my Mav made enough 'music' and never put in a stereo. ;)
I had the Flows playin' bass, with the cam makin' the beat, and Pete Jackson on the lead!
    Those were the days.
