good to hear from you. have you made plans yet for turkey rod run over thanksgiving weekend? part-time won't be there but i will on saturday and sunday. i will try to plan something for the silver springs show in january also.
if you every are up toward kissimmee on a saturday ken and i usually cruise the old town cruise. gates open @1:00 and we usually sit around and b.s. until the cruising starts @ 8:30. usually 200-300 cars show up
i am now the MCCI club rep for florida. send me a p.m. and i will send you contact info.

no I don't know anything about the rod run. And I dont know anybody by name from this forum due to being new.
I was planning on sending in registration for the silver springs show. And ive never gona to old town because i have always thought you needed a completely restored ride.

the turkey run is the biggest show in the south. it is held at the daytona speedway over thanksgiving weekend. last year they had appx 5000 cars. it also has a huge swap meet to shop in. if you go to www.turkeyrun.com you can get the 411.
as for old town, there are some rods under restoration there. most are finished. their only real requirement is that the car be painted or if in primer that it be all one color. also must be 72 or older for saturday night. if you have done the big bumper to small bumper convertion they can't tell the difference.
what is your project? tell us about it.
as for silver springs--- ken (part-time), craig selvey, hottie2 (dana),73maverick, and myself are all slated to show up. last year there were 30+ mavericks there. ken ended up with the win last year. it is a good time. there is a local maverick club (CAMEO) that also has a large showing up there and are great guys to hang out with. chip (their leader )has alot of good restomod ideas and has a stable full of mavs and comets to show for it. it is well worth the cost of admission.

was a member and dropped membership due to poor reresentation. after talking to craig i have resent my membership and am the new rep for florida. i guess craig didn't send you the news fast enough. as i said i was a member for several years and nothing happened down here so both ken and i let our memberships go. hopefully we can rememdy that situation.
Ken-- glad to have you in the loop.
if anyone has interesting suggestions or comments please feel free to share them with me.

Alright sounds good, I will have to definately send in my registration for silver springs now that I know there is going to be some mavs there! As for old town; I do have paint(fading by the day) but car has multiple dents and the guy who owned the car before me tried to fiberglass the hood himself and it looks pretty bad. But I would love to go! Its not that I am ashamed of what I have, it's just that I don't want to drive all the way out there for them to tell me I can't participate if you know what I mean.

Guys, keep me in the loop about dates for possible Mini-Meets. I e-mail these things to
Hemmings and Mustang & Ford Magazine if you get them to me in advance.

will do seth. thanks for the help.
70 mavinator--- if you could post some pics or email them to me i can give you a better idea if old town might give you any problems. my email is MillerJason@bellsouth.net.
this forum is the best place to look for replacement parts too. most of the group is from the midwest and central states where there seems to be more mavs and comets laying around than there is down here. just let the board know what you are looking for. more than likely someone has a spare laying around.

i know pics can hide alot but i am not seeing anything that would keep you out of old town. i have seen alot worse roll thru. it looks like your biggest problem is the hood lip. you can get replacement fiberglass hoods fairly inexpensively. that dent in the fender is very fixable. it looks like you got a good starter project. p.m.me your contact info and i will call you the next time ken and i are going to old town together.
