Float Adjustment

    I have a 6 cyl, 2.5 engine and need to adjust the float on my carb...i am new to mechanics but want to fix my 77 mav by myself. can i use my chiltons manual to fix this problem?

    Not sure which Chilton manual you have. But if your taking the carb apart to adjust the float you will likely damage the gasket in the process. I would go ahead and pick up a rebuild kit and rebuild the carb. The kit will come with detailed instructions.

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.
    The carb float is adjusted with the carb off the car and disassembled....so might as well rebuild it.
