Had a great Maverick day! The water leak was coiming from the cowl area inside the car. Found the rubber seal that mates up with the heater box; had a BIG GAP!..There is a nut plate and bolt that hold the two tight, there was no bolt and the nut plate was stripped. Replaced the nut plate and put on a good bolt. Poured water in the cowl and it drained below the right fender at the rear. Then moved on to the brakes. This will be my third master cylinder. My problem was the car took a lot of pedal effort to stop with brand new everything in the brake sytem. It felt like the pedal rod was too short. But it was the correct one. The studs that held the M/C were installed backwards, so the M/C was never tightened down because the stud shoulder was bottoming out the nuts. Now with my Potorfield R4-S shoes and disc brake pads it will stop on a dime. Next on the list was fixing the side window latch. Once I got the pin out it went like butter. The back seat was not clamped down and I had to find the clamps, welded to the floor, under the new carpet. Just cut the carpet and its in.
Thanks to Don for selling the correct latch to me. And a BIG Thanks to my friend Gerry for helping me on the car!...Now, we're off to the Cobra Club meeting (Orange County chapter).
