    Hi,

I recently switch to the Firefox Browser, but I'm not able to use it to access this forum. It keeps asking me to login, and when I do it says my password is wrong.

I've changed the Firefox security settings to allow cookies from www.maverick.to and mmb.maverick.to, but I still can't login.

I can access the forum with Microsoft Internet Explorer, but Firefox is my default browser. I use IE now only for this forum.

Is anyone else using Firefox for this forum? What settings are you using that work?

    Roz

If you get an error message from the forum when logging in, then there is a problem with the password and it is not a cookie problem. Does Firefox autofill your password information? If so reset it, and log in again. Go to Tools/Options/Privacy/Saved Forms and clear the saved info. Let me know if this works.

Ditto, computer nerd here, been using Firefox since v0.94.

Occasionally it won't let me type in the message box, but that seems to be fixed with 1.5 and only happened on one of my computers in the first place.

I deleted the saved password and tried again, and it still doesn't work. I was using Firefox version 1.0.7, so I upgraded to 1.5.0.1 and tried again. It still won't let me login.

Maybe it's my computer. Unlike 74merc, I have no problem typing in my user name and password, but they are not recognized when I click Log in. Seems like I'm the only one having this problem. :90:

You misunderstood. I was logged in, but I could not reply to anything. Generally, just go back one page and click the link again fixed it for me.

Are you certain you are using the right password? Have you deleted cookies? I have had that problem, after a loss of power, some of my cookies in FF got corrupted.

I'm sure my password is correct. It's the same one I'm using with IE, but doesn't work with Firefox. It must be a cookie problem, but I can't figure out what it is. I'm a computer nerd too, so I should be able to get this to work. I thought it might be my firewall. I entered a whole bunch of exceptions for this website and URL, but Firefox still won't log me in. I'll just continue with IE for now.

I cant seem to find any reason this would be happening, maybe try going at it from the opposite direction? set firefox to completely open and see if it works, if it does you can start locking down the security until it stops working? i use firefox at home and work, havent had any problems yet.

Next time this happens, do a "HARD REFRESH" by pressing CTRL F5.

You need to allow cookies. I'll bet that is your problem. Any site that you have a user account on and must log in will require you to allow cookies. You probably have them blocked...

    I'm Baaack

Stefan was right. It was my password. I must have requested a new password at some time, but since I never logged off of IE, I didn't remember what the password was. When I logged rosalindr off IE, I couldn't login there either. So I requested a new password again, and was sent a temporary password. I was able to use that to login on both Firefox and IE. This time I remembered to change the temp password to my regular password. :whew:Whew. I'm such a jerk. Thanks for all your help, and sorreeee.

Glad that it worked out! Browsing a forum is much better with Firefox than IE if you use the tabbed browsing. I removed the hat lady username.
