Well we finally got it paitned last night. Here's an early pic. Now it's time for reassembly. I do have a question about the door hinges though. When we bought the car the doors sagged pretty badly. So I assumed the hignes were worn out and needed a rebuild. However, holding them in my hand I don't feel or see the wear that I expected. Could they still be worn in places that I can't detect by holding them in my hand? Thanks guys.

WOW!!! Thats definately a red car. Looking good. As far as the hinges you should be able to detect play in the one without the spring. The one with the spring is hard to see because all the play is usually hidden by the spring pressure. You dont have the leverage of the door. Hinges are the same on both sides so find a good set of passenger hinges. They are usually mutch better shape than the drivers side.

Looking real good. Thats about as red as they get. As for the hinges, replacing the pins and bushings will tighten them up.

I bought replacement bushings and hinges from Autocrafters once upon a time. They worked ok and only cost a few dollars.

    Color and hinges...

Nice and bright! Is that the original Ford 2B 'bright red'or an aftermarket color?
    Looks like mine!

I replaced the bushings in my hinges. The ones from Autokrafters worked great and they were fairly cheap.

Very Nice! You've got lots of work still ahead of you. Nothing like a new paint job to motivate you.

Thanks for the good words guys and gals. It is reallly good to see the results after wearing out my arms block sanding. The color is Mopar Viper red. All we are going to add to it is some of the chrome and stainless trim. For wheels we have some '96 mustang GT 17" wheels and 245/45X17 Goodyear Z radials. Are those tires overkill for this 250 or what? he-he-he Thanks for the advice on the hinges also. Now it is time for action.

GOOD LOOKING JOB!!! Didn't your car have a custom job done to the taillights? If so could you post a pic of the backend?

Here is a pic of the back end now but it will be a few days to weeks before the taillights are put in. I'll post some more pics as the car goes together.
