Was routing around and found some old pics and there was one of this Comet (forgot i even took it) from around 1984.I was like 12 years old at the time and absolutely loved the car and had wanted one since.Later shortly after i bought my Comet me and Joe the owner of the Comet who now had a 71 Grabber became friends then it seemed like weeks later he was killed in a car accident. R.I.P "Smokin Joe"
It seems that is the norm, sorry to hear of it. Great looking car. What size are the rear tires? The stance is appealing.
Haha yea your right there. If i had to guess they were probably L60 15's on American racing 200s "Daisys"
Woolco use to sell "Mach 60" tires, everyone had them, or had to have them, back then. They looked very similar. In my neighborhood growing up, we had a Brown Maverick with side pipes, that looked very similar.
I have no idea. But I remember a 1969 black, Gran Torino with red pin stripes and wide rear tires, and read the number "50" on the tire when I was ten. They were also on the rear of brown 1973 AMX, so I thought this was normal for rear tires on a "hotrod" in the mid-70's.
Everybody around here used to have "Starfire" tires or "Jet Streak" tires. This car has "Jet Streak" tires on the back.
Haha funny this came up since the guy who owned the Comet worked for a tire shop LOL So who knows what could have been on there. Kelly Springfields maybee??
Well he certainly stuffed it right. They look like L60-15s to me. Maybe H60s .... It also looks like the fender lips were pulled out a smidge.
