I have '70 Maverick 2-door/175in 6, that needs a Left front fender. I need to know what other year fenders will work and what if any mods have to be done. Also has any one done a manual trans to auto swap. I know that these are fundemital questions,But I am a recently converted Chevy Guy.

70-72 fenders are a direct swap. 73-77 fenders bolt in but need the front notched out for the gravel pan. The auto swap is pretty simple ... get a C4, cooling lines to the radiator and a shifter and linkage. I'll buy all the 6-cylinder manual transmission linkage from you if you ever do the conversion ...

    691/2 Or 70?

If its a 69.5 (key on the dash instead of the steering column) and you decide to go with an automatic column I would be interested in talking to you about the shift collar/steering column. Most people convert to either a floor shift or an automatic and break the arm off the manual collar. I am trying to keep mine original 3 on the tree and the 69.5 collars are kind of hard to find that have not been broken. If you need any more info let me know and welcome to the board. There are folks here that can answer about any question you can think up. Thanks Kelly

Thanks for all the information. I'll keep you all informed on my progres, and try to get some pics posted. I'm still in planing stage. The body is a little rough, But I got a great deal on it. I only paid $200.00 and it runs like a new car.
