Estimate on gettin A/C installed?

    I'm about to buy this 73Grabber however it doesnt have A/C...can anyone give me an estimate on how much I might be spending to get this done?

    The aftermarket kits Ive seen go for 700-1300 dollars. Im going to install one this fall. I havent made a choice yet on which one. I would have no idea on what a shop would charge.

    I would say count on at least spending $1000 for a COLD system up and running in your car.

    OK ..So my other question is..would I have a heater after installing A/C?

    Since more than likely you will be changing the evaporator core you might as well do the heater core.

    Did Earl use a Vintage Air Kit? Which one? I was thinking the early Mustang Kit would fit.

    i spent $715.00 for just the underhood kit, compressor, condensor, drier, exp valve, hoses and fittings. My car has fac ac. I did the install myself. U can figure on another 300-500 for an in car unit that u will most likely have to do some serious fab work/modifcations to fit under these small cramped dash. Then u have to have the hoses crimped and the sys. evac and charged. I wud say to have all this done by people in the trade ur looking at min of 2 grand.

    I don't believe a Stang kit will fit w/o some serious mods! If one has the skills and resources they can make just abt anything work...
