I found a large spring about 6 1/2" long x 1 1/4" round and I'm not sure where it goes. I think it might be for the transmission which was a three speed manual on the tree, I changed to the floor. Would anyone know where this spring would go.

    Thanksd

Probably the assist spring for the clutch linkage. Mounts to a hole on a tab on the firewall and the other end goes to a small hole in the top half of the clutch equalizer bar.

Try N.P.D. or Autokrafters. Its a common part between the old mustangs/mavs. Should be easy to find.
