Electric fuel pump

    i just purchased a factory electric fuell pump from a 78 fairmont to install on my car but i have no idea as to how to install it or where to positon the fuel pump.

    can someone help me? :hmmm:

    i had no idea that any carbed ford ever had an eletric fuel pump. can you post a pic of it?

    Yeah, Auto Zone lists mechanical fuel pumps for all three engine options in that car. If you got an electric pump for a '78 Fairmont, it's a universal type and not stock.

    All the electrics I know of need to be as close to and below the tank as possible. They're made to push fuel, not pull it from the tank to the engine bay.
