i put a maverick rear end in my 53 ford and now i need to find a set of 15x5 or 6 rims for it. the rear end is 5 on 4 and a half with a 3 inch center. am i going to find a maverick wheel to fit this. im having a hard time finding a wheel to fit and im looking for the traditional steel plain wheel.
Any of the larger Fords from the later 60's and into the 70's had 15" steel wheels. Width varies, but 5", 6" and 6 1/2" is very common. Search for Crown Vic, Cougar, LTD wheels, you can find them very easy. Here are some on ebay right now: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/COUG...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
Here is a bolt pattern guide: Look for a 15x6 or 15x6.5 wheel with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern http://www.vehicle-bolt-pattern.com/ford-lug-reference-guide.html
I think hes refering to the center axle hub or whatever you call it. I know some guys that had to machine their wheels to get them to fit.
