Theres a leather covered park where the window rolls down and handle and stuff but actual door is metal...anyone know if these are jus hollow doors and I if ill cut into something

Once you take off the inside door panels, you can see that the doors are steel framed. You will have to cut into the inside metal to fit your speakers but you have to pick a spot that won't interfere with your windows rolling up or down or your door handles operation :)

I assume you already got the upholstered inside door panel off? That is only held on with clips on the back of it that lock into holes drilled in the door. The rest of the door as you see in my photo is a completely welded unit. :tiphat:

I would not recommend mounting speakers in the doors.

    What size speakers are they?

The doors are one of the worst places you could put speakers.

I dunno, I've had 6X9 co-axials in my front doors for probably about 12 years now, they sound pretty good. Come to think of it, my Chrysler 300 came from the factory with the midranges in the front doors (tweeters on the dash and woofers in the rear deck).

From a sound point the doors are a great place to mount a speaker. From a practical perspective, one has to cut the metal to install them. Plus, as Barry mentioned, one needs some type of baffle to keep them dry. Much better places in a Maverick to install them.
