mine seem to be a little bigger than the original panels , a little to tall to fit in between groves in the door especially in the front by the window crank , everywhere else it's inset except that part , has anyone else had that happen . Both passenger and drivers fit the same way for me .

I also had to pad up the tunnel so the carpet would fit good

The panels look great but the fit wasn't as good as I had expected, maybe the 70 door is slightly different, but I dought it

it's hard to tell from the pictures but it fits in the back but not at the front ,just too big and you can't make it any smaller without removing the material

72 panels don't fit very well either, If you want them to fit upfront they hang over the back and if you get them even in the back then you can't put your window crank and without Rubbing a hole through it I would think

In looking at the pictures....everything looks normal to me.....just like the factory fit them. The NEW panels are "thicker" but they were probably that thick 40 years ago as well.

Like I said, mine fit great. Are you sure you put the clip in correct? Are you using the factory clips? Do you have the plastic escutcheon behind your window handles so the handle doesn't rub the door panel?

Looks to me like the clips were put in wrong.

I put the original panel on top of the new ones and they were a little smaller than the new ones on both cars , I ended up pushing the panels toward the back a little so the window crank wouldn't fit so tight ( I do have the plastic washer behind the crank ) but I couldn't use all the clips, (original clips) and the panel hangs off the back a little more than it should ( even with no clips on the panel) , don't get me wrong I'm happy that they make them , and I'm happy with how they look , overall picture looks good, also had the original seats recovered, the guy did a great job.
