I am just about to start building up the 302 HO motor for my Maverick, but I came across this ad and it got me wondering if it would be easier and cheaper to buy this instead. If I overhaul the 5.0 I already have, I will have to buy a new cam, heads, intake, carb, pan, and all of the misc accessories. 3K OBO is a tempting offer. What do you guys think? ******************************************************* The motor has ZERO miles on, just some time on a run stand. Completely assembled with all Ford Racing parts. If you have any questions on any of the parts please look up the part # before asking any questions, that will save us both alot of time. Other than that if there's any questions please ask. Price is $3000 but is negotiable to a point. ALL of the parts are NEW!!!
Cant rebuild yours to these standards for the asking price. I am always leary about something somebody else has built. You will have to change oil pan and pick up tube on it.
Good price, but something doesn't make sense. The ad says the crank is balanced for a 28 oz damper, which is normal for a stroker, but then says the damper is 0 balance. The only other thing is I'm not a big fan of hyper pistons but as long as you don't plan on using a power adder later it's not a concern.
I'll save you alot of money! Just look at my thread in the for sale section! http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=58543
It seems like a pretty good deal but I would have to hear it run and have an oil pressure guage hooked up before I would pay that much
You get what you pay for! So look out. I personally would build what you got. That way you know what you have, and you know that it is done right. I just say this cause I have been burnt to many times with buying engines. If if comes with a warranty then do it. But be advised. Just a caution for you.
