I am thinking of installing a Paxton Novi supercharger system in my mav (for my birthday). Anyone have any input or experiences with the system? Recommendations? Any info is appreciated(y)

If you're going fuel injection get ready to spend ALOT of money on the electronics and all the other stuff. It's been done many times so I guess all it takes is $$$$$$$$$$$............

I would definitely go fuel injected, most people i've talked with about blow through setups say that they are real hard to get tuned properly.......

I would highly recommend it, but go blow-thru. Tuning them is only hard if you dont know what you are doing, just like EFI. Talk to lonnie (blown76mav) about tuning a blow-thru car. Also check out turbomustangs.com. They have a subforum dedicated strictly to blow-thru setups.

You see ALOT more fuel injected turbo/supercharger applications......I wonder why that is??

Its likely because most cars that you see with a blower/turbo COME with fuel injection. Dont get me wrong, tuning a blow thru car in not foolproof. But I havent seen or heard any evidence that says it is more difficult than tuning EFI cars. This is a common misconception generally made by people who know nothing about tuning a blow-thru carb. If he already had fuel injection, I would say stick with it andhave a chip burnt. But if he already has a carb, go blow-thru and save the money and hassle of converting. This is all assuming that there is a local tuner who can tune EFI, or blow-thru depending on his chosen path.

I think OneBadMav may be refering to the carb enclosure style systems that Paxton offers.

By pressurizing the entire carb you eliminate most of the issues that you would incur with a blow-thru system. Tony Hahn has the Paxton Novi 1200 system on his car.

BTW Lonnies car had a 671 on it which is a positive displacement / roots supercharger not a blow-thru centrifugal system. John Chandler also runs a positive displacement / roots type supercharger.

Lonnies silver notchback had a blow-thru twin turbo setup built and tuned by him that was probaly capable of 10s. I think I remember him saying he had around $400 in the whole setup. Change the floats, cut off the choke horn, and you have a blow-thru holley :D
