okies i need some help here. i'm gonna try to get these puppies to fit on some granada spindels. the diagram link of the pinto bracket is at the below link (pdf file) wilwood disk brakes the only thing i can see being a problem is the pinto bracket. the tech guys there say that it will work however of course no one there has put them on a maverick before. they said all i had to do was redrill the holes on the bracket to mount it to the spindel. what do you guys think?
ok since no one know what the hell im talking about... or either want nothing to do with a pinto... maybe someone could e-mail me picutre of what the pattern on a granada spindel looks like.
i know from the time i was messing with mustang II's that thoughs guys were useing the the granada break parts to convert the m II's to 5 lug and 11'' rotors. i think they just take the caliper bracket and the rotor though, but im not 100% sure as i never got that far with mine. im sure if you check out mustangii.net hope this helps some i know the pinto should be close to the same
I cant see it being very hard to mount that bracket on any spindle . You may have to make some spacers and weld them onto the caliper bracket but the surface is probably flat . I dont have any pictures of granada spindles though .
looking at the wilwood instructions there is no visable reason why they wouldn't work. One thing about the pinto/mustang II spindal is the caliper bracket unbolts and the granada is cast in. So the first thing you would have to do is cut the caliper mount off. The second thing is see if there is enough meat to bolt the bracket down. It may be easier to use early mustang setup and use the maverick drum spindals. On early mustangs the spindals between disc and drums are similar, four bolts mount the caliper bracket or drum backing plate. Allot of the after market conversion kits do the same thing. If you want cheap machinist help let me know, you buy the parts I'll put it together.
Ummm The caliper mounts on my granadas unbolt.. though unlike the early mustangs where the caliper mount is bolted to the front of the spindle the granada/mav is bolted to the side.. The early mustangs spindles are the same disk to drum, but different spindle sizes between I6 and V8 there are a few pic of the granada spindle here: www.geocities.com/aronj66/redcpe
I stand corrected, so then you would unbolt the caliper mount and then see if you have enough meat to mount the new wilwood caliper mount
