differantial decode for 8 inch

    I'm looking to decode the following rear-end code if someone could let me know what the codes means that would be great email me at jnex@telus.net

    WDW-71 3lb
    2.79 8 530A

    Well, its definately an 8" with a 2:79 ratio.

    70 Maverick Grabber, 72 Maverick Grabber Restomod
    In addition to the fine info above - WDW is a Maverick, Mustang or Cougar code and the 71 is probably a T1. It is a 2 pinion open differential.

    Did this come from a 74 model year? The date code 3LB is a 2nd week of November, 1973.

    530A refers to the assembly plant that made it.



    (I originally posted December build month - I forgot they didn't use I in the letter codes so I was a month off - I corrected it)
