Did Comets come with consoles???

    I know the early Mavericks had a optional console or consolette, but could you get one in a Comet as well? Never heard or seen one...

    I have the small Maverick console in my 74 it does not have the clock but the Maverick steer head block off plate in the middle, which looks fine to me. Now if you could get one in a Comet, would the block off plate be a Comet or Mercury emblem instead of the Maverick steer head?

    THis is a great question. Never seen one with a mercury emblem.

    Ive never seen one. Also comets werent around when the early mavericks were out. That might have something to do with it.

    Yes, you could get the consolette in a Comet. The Maverick emblem was on the block off plate if you did not get the clock. So all the consolettes in Comets had clocks.

    That makes sense since Mercury was supposed to be more of a Luxury car than Ford...
