detroit tru-trac for drag racing

    has anybody used this for drag racing? i hear they work like a locker (power to both tires) but are more street friendly.

    Yes they a awesome they use a worm gear design and are the best thing short of a spool. I have personal experience with them they aren't cheap but you get what you pay for. They will absolutely pull posi at the track all the time and yet on the street you will not even notice it love 'em ...Brian.

    ive seen them shater the worm gears in them when used in dragracing. theres been lots of publicity on them in the last couple of years but ive seen them brake. i would go with a track lock from us gear, or a detroit soft locker (thats what i have in the car now) or a spool if your a dedicated drag car.

    Tru-Trac is a really stout piece,in a mild street/strip car in a 9" it would be fine.I would be reluctant to put major HP with slicks and or a trans brake with it as it may not take that much,it is made by The same Co. that makes Detroit Lockers.
