crossmember

    I have two of the inline 6 transmission crossmembers and was wondering if there would be anything wrong with cutting them in half and welding them together to make the v8 styled crossmember?

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    You dont have to cut em... they will work as is.Just you wont have clearance for dual exhaust on the drivers side.If thats your concerne...get a V-8 cross member(tranny mount) unless you want to cut...chop...section.It is fun to fab!!

    dual exhaust is the plans and i already have the 2 crossmembers and i would have to agree with you it is fun to fab

    I say go for it! Let us know how it turns out, as this might be a good option for people who can't find a V8 one.
