Oh my I am so happy with my rebuild. My car sounds mean and furious. Runs incredibly well. I am trying to post a video on Youtube for you guys to see. I got the car running great. Just have 2 minor glitches:

1)Tiny water leak from a bolt going through the water pump.

For this should I use pipe dope or teflon or RTV on the bolt?

    2) Water resovior for wipers is leaking from the tube on the underside.

I had a few other issues (fuel leak etc....) but quickly fixed those.

Tomorrow I will put the fenders and headlights back on, fix 1 and 2 above and go for a long ride.

The I got to get the garage in shape for spring for the old lady.

Congratulations!!!! Feels good dont it? You can use thread sealant or a good RTV on the bolt, either will do the job.

Bolts that need sealer: The 4 water pump bolts that are immediately above and below the coolant ports on the block. The mid to late 80's 302 blocks need sealer on the lower head bolt holes. The 50 oz crank flywheel bolt holes extend thru the crank flange and thus need sealer.
