Now that i am back to work, i want to get going on my front end. i have asked in the past what bushings, when to paint, tube or stock? most important thing i left out, WHERE TO BUY! it's important to know i am sticking with stock upper control arms (UCA). so im looking for bushings. where would i find my best buy? has anyone ever been on this mission? Any and all help is awesome! thank you in advance. Rick
well the pivot bushing is more a metal to metal bushing than a rubber bushing. Alot of times the arm can be warn out too if the bushing is too bad. You can get Moog upper control arm bushing which comes with both end caps and the lond rod in the middle that the bolts go through that go into the shock tower. These can be a pain in the butt to change. And are you doing Ball joints too? If you are it may be easier and cheaper to buy a complete new upper arm that comes with the bushing and ball joint. the complete arm can be bought from any classic Mustang supply website. If you do the pieces seperate and keep your old arm I would go with Moog parts, they are usually in stock at O'reillys.
There is also the later Granada type rubber bushings. There is a thread on here somewhere. try this: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=75350&highlight=control+arm
You would need one of these per side $59.99 http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/MOO0/K8131.oap?pt=02938&ppt=C0106 For the ball joint you can go cheaper brand cause they are easier to replace when they go bad, $13.49 http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/MPH0/K8142.oap?pt=C0317&ppt=C0106 I've seen the whole arm on Ebay with bushings and ball joints for as low as $60 plus shipping. Unknown brand but haven't seen any Name Brand options, except Dorman we sell for $155.
