Does anybody know what the compression on a 200 I6 engine should be? I checked mine and it ranged from 165 psi to 175 psi. So I figure it must be around 170 psi? Car is a 1974 Mav.

    What is normal?

Compression test doesn't really tell you the compression ratio of your engine without bunches of info that is debatable.

Your numbers look real good,,, most manuals will tell you as long as all your numbers are close (some say 75% on up to 95%), So if you have 170 an low is 146, you are only 20% different. Good numbers!

From what you have listed, your numbers are less then 10% Looks Good!

Been up for 20 hours so I hope this made sense an you understand

all the compression test does it let u know the condition of your rings...and in your case your good. you need too look up the actual compression of your motor according to year mines a 72 and if i remember it's either 8.4:1 or 8.1:1 if that helps
