I am planning a cowl leak repair in the very near future. I was contemplating replacing both the heater and evaporator cores while I have it torn down. For anyone who has done this, what else would you recommend replacing while it is apart and are there any gotcha's I should be aware of? It is a 75 Maverick with factory AC.

    Thanks

If u plan on using the AC; I wud also replace the expansion valve and drier. U can also have the reciever/drier repaired/rebuilt. U will not likely be able to replace the evaporator - I wud take it to a radiator shop for testing and if necessary, repaired.
If ur trying to keep the car stock, u can have the condenser repaired and get rebuilt compressor.
I did the complete HVAC upgrade w/ all new stuff frm Classic Auto Air in Flordia.
