My father took a great bit of time communicating with you all on here and his passion about Ford Mavericks and Mercury Comets. He rebuilt 9 mercury comets and ford mavericks with is friends Bill and Alex, I believe close to 13 motors all together, always on to a new better motor/car... It was with great pleasure that I got partake in overhearing all the shop talk as I worked our family business with my Dad, Chip for 30 years. If you are interested in reading his obituary I will post it here. And if you are interested in car parts for sale, I have a lot I am trying to liquidate. I see where to list those on the forum and I will be adding pictures as time permits. Additionally I'd like to ask your opinion if it would be better to sell these parts on here or take them to the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona, I am 15 minutes from there. OR I could have a sale at our shop the weekend of the Turkey Rod Run which is 15 min away and maybe any of you coming to that would want to sift through all these things?

I will post photos under Gallery: COMETIZED PARTS FOR SALE
and here is Chip's obit if anyone cares to read about an original maverick/comet enthusiast: https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/legacyremembers/frederick-crenshaw-obituary?id=58267839

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Being from the opposite coast, I never had the pleasure of meeting your father, Chip. I would have enjoyed knowing him in person.

Though I had never met him, I did occasionally correspond with him here. Sincere condolences. It sounds like he was a true believer, so it is not goodbye, but see you later.

I am sorry for your loss.
Over the years, I really enjoyed communicating with him during the restoration of my own car.
I even considered buying his green car (twice!) when it repeatedly was for sale and crashed again here in Germany.
He was a valuable member of this community, and i am sure he was a great man and even better dad to you!

Thank you for the kind words, this forum is a part of his life I was not involved in but he would talk in front of me about the conversations and cars he'd see and talk to you all about... you filled a fun part of his life too and he just loved his cars, any suggestions on selling the left over parts I posted? There is so much here! I have booked space at the Turkey Rod Run, I'll be looking for buyers for what is left. I of course am keeping the best of what is left for myself in the event another dummy runs a stop sign and t-bones me!

I am just reading this now. Very sorry to hear this and my condolences to you and your family. Chip was a fun guy to be around. I first met him at Power Tour East (in 2000? 2001?) Seeing another Comet there, we ended up hanging out together.

When he saw I had converted my backup lights to regular lenses, he pointed to his own car and said, "Oh, I see you have the rare Canadian taillight option, too. " LOL. I have been using that line ever since.

    Godspeed Chip.
