I bought this car a while back and cleaned it up a few months ago, just been too busy with the race car to post any pics. Some of you may remember it, but it was completely thrashed inside and out.

I thoroughly cleaned it, gutted the interior, put on an old rear bumper I had, got a new trunk and rattle can painted it, rattle can painted an old rear valance I had, did a quick hammer job on the rear panel and painted it, did some spot rattle can painting, and threw on some old wheels and tires.

Then I took some stuff from my 71 Grabber that is currently in restoration, including the interior that was the same color, engine, and 3spd manual tranny. I then added a 3.40 geared rear end pumpkin I had lying around, and new front drum brakes that I used to have on my race car. I had to re-key the whole car too. Also added a correct air condition package tray I happened to have lying around :)

I didn't spend much and the car's not real nice yet, but it is running strong, and I think it makes a cool rat rod complete with dings, scratches and Arizona bullet holes. If I ever get to restoring it, it won't be for a while, but I plan on making the drivetrain and mechanicals real nice, clean and powerful. I also plan on racing it a little bit. The other cool thing about this car is it's very solid and rust free.

I also want to get a Marti report for this car and my 71 Grabber. I don't think there are too many white and red Comet GT's and Grabbers with a factory V8 and 3spd manual.

Unfortunately, I don't have too many pics showing how bad it was, but here's a few pics of it when I got it (thanks to this board).

Looking good! I can't wait to hear the details from your Marti Report - definitely not many of that color combo around. (y)

Nice looking car. You did a wonderful job on it.

Mine is the opposite combo, red with a white interior.

    Yours looks great!

Yeah, that's the one...luckily I had a bunch of extra parts and chrome. Just wanted to get it on the road for now. Thanks for the compliments guys.
