Changing column shift to floor? Auto

    Well my son wants the auto trans on the 74 comet with Column mounted shifter to be converted to a floor mount shifter. anyone done this? How much is involved? floor shifters from what cars would work?

    PS. going to pick up this car today from PA. We live in VA. I will post pics soon

    Do you want it to appear stock? If not go with an aftermarket shifter from B&M or Hurst.

    Yes I think I would want it to appear stock. what is involved in making this switch? If already here somewhere can someone post a link please?

    Shifters from Mavericks, Comets, Mustang-IIs, Pintos, Bobcats, and early '80s AMCs are where you can get them. Early Mustangs will also work, but are curved instead of straignt. Same thing with late '60s/early '70s Torinos...

    the hard or messy part is flipping the shift lever on the trans.... my tranny guy did it for $35...i used the large shifter and the long tranny shift lever...frank...:bouncy:
