FACINATING!!!!!! does this adapter make the carb sit much higher? was there a noticeable boost in power? fuel economy suffer much assuming (yeah right) you keep your foot out of it? i imagine this set-up with a header and that lil 250 would scoot!!!!

You should have the top of the intake log milled flat then port out the intake hole to the size and shape of the carb hole(s) . Then drill and thread the mounting holes for the carb studs.

When you use an adaptor you`r trying to get 250 - 300 cfm through a 1.75 inch hole that was made to flow 200 cfm .

If you`r wanting good MPG and added low end torque and horse power a webber 32-36 carb would prolly be best . For more power (= less mpg) a webber 38 carb or a holley 300 (or is it 250 cfm , I forget? ) cfm would be best and for the most HP a holley 500 . Don`t forget about the 2 barrels that came stock on the 302s and 289s , with a little tuning one should run great on a 250. What I think would be the best all round carb is the holley 390 cfm 4 barrel or an edelbrock 500 cfm . It would be alot of work to get a 4 barrel on the log intake but it has been done before and *to me* it would be worth it .

Here is some parts web sites for y`all to take a look at and a great ford I6 forum...

    www.fordsixparts.com

    www.fordsix.com

www.ebay.com is prolly be the best place for the carbs when it comes to the price .
