OK folks, a while back I bought a set of 15in steelies for my '75 Mav. I never thought about test fitting them since I needed a new set of tires. Well after paint and new tires the wheels didnt fit! The center bore is too small to slide over the hub!! Is there anything I can do besides getting two wheels that do fit?? Enlarge the center bore somehow?

Unfortunately not. You apparently have drum brake wheels and some 74 and all 75 and up Mavericks have disc brakes which use the larger center bore. I had the same issue years ago when adding disc brakes to my 72

In 74, the center bore of the wheels changed, on the disc hub, and the rear axle.

depending on how much of a mismatch there is you could have the rotor "cone" machined down

I wonder if anyone has tried using early mustang rotors... I think they have the smaller bearing cone already but I don't know if the other dimensions are the same

Had that same issue once, got a flat tire 60 miles from home on the way to Roundup and my spare didn't fit. A tow, 6 hours, and $220 later I was back on the road.
