Carter and motorcraft???? carb

I have a carb that has a tag on it that says Motorcraft.

But i was looking at the carb one day and noticed it says carter.

Whats the story behind this?

200 6 carb

 

Those Carter carb were made for Ford and they put Motorcraft tags on them. Nio big mystery. The one on my 200 I6 is the same way.

 

Carter made carburetors for ford. So did Holley, you can also find those with the Motorcraft name on it.

Yeah, mines a Motorcraft 2 barrel with metal tag that says rebuilt or re-manufactured by Holly.
