I did on my hotrod. Came from the same company I was looking at before I bought from J.C., but for $50 less. That was years ago though. I also bought sway bars from J.C. and they were addco bars for 1/2 the price addco wanted direct.
I practically stole a JC Whitney carpet ... bought it with a bunch of stuff from a guy's failed project. It was molded and fits well after letting it relax in the sun, and then letting it sit in place in the car for days. I was in no rush, doing other stuff at that point. I did the trimming spread out over a couple of weeks. Started from the center and worked my way out (shifter, console, seat belt anchors, ... then seat tracks, finally outer edges). I was glad that I kept the original carpet in order to get a better idea how the factory trimmed theirs. This was all one big piece instead of how factory was two. This was cut pile. Looks fine, but to be more period-correct, I would go with loop if I had a do-over. Shoot, this was black (right color!) and darned near free ...
