Hi folks! i have a question about my single barrel carter carb, its on a 170 i6. I tried to adjust the mixture with lousey results and infact when I turn the screw in , it goes all the way to the stop and the car still runs. I guess my question is can this be rebuilt or should I buy a new one. thanks Bob

No garantees here, but for probably less that $15.00 you can get a rebuild kit. New or rebuilt carb going to be $100.00 to $150.00 or so. When disassembled, blow out holes with compressor. ( remove idle adj screw and blow out there also.) Pay attention to float level adjustment. I'm not a carb guy, but you have to be passing gas down into the intake somewhere. A float set too high may allow gas to get get into the venturas and a accelerator pump could be defective. I don't think the hardware for an accelerator pump comes with the basic rebuild kit. Any how a kit is worth a try. Keep everything clean. Good luck Jan
