Hey guy's I took my 69.5 stock Mav. to my first car show today and even though its a daily driver it's totally original, and with some rubbing compound it attracted way more attention then even I expected. Bob

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
    cool.. thats great!

mavericks get lots of attention cuz they are different! everyone always knows what a mustang, chevelle, carmaro, 34 ford, etc looks like... there are too many of them!

famous quotes from cars show when a maverick is in one.

    "i had one of thoses!"

    "look a MAVERICK!"

"i had a friend that had one!"

"wow i never seen a maverick like this!"

and of course the negitive ones you hear form some stuck up know it all or some numb brain.

    "looks its a pinto"

    "a maverick?" phhutt (rolls eyes)

    "why?"

but 98% of the time you will get positive things about a maverick being in a car show.

my goal... to upset and other muscle car class! lol wish me luck next weekend...... lol

anyways keep it up... bring the car to more shows and one day the maverick will get some respect it deserves!

I heard just about every one of the good ones yesterday, but heres a new one. a women came up to me and told me when she was a teenager her dad said she couldnt have a new Mustang because it was to fast and dangerous so he agreed to buy her an 8cyl. Maverick. She LOL and I wish I had a camra to show you guys the look of joy on her face. I also was happy about what happened just after getting there, I got there early but there were alot of nice cars already there so being my first show I was a little intimidated and wasn't sure about putting my daily driver in with these awsom cars so I parked far away from them (3 empty isles away). and the coolest thing happened, a real nice mustang came in and parked right next to me ans soon after I was surrounded by meny other fords. I felt like my Maverick belonged. It was the start of a great day.

The best part I would say is that you are able to show it now. Not like me as i look out the window and see it snowing.

I'm looking out my window now as well and yes, I see snow too. Looks like my drive yesterday was the last for the year.:(

I'm glad your day at the car show was a good one. Now you know why I enjoy showing my Maverick so much. It's not just another car among a field full of Mustangs, Chevelles and Corvettes. Like Maverick Man said, it's different and people like different. My Maverick has won a boat load of awards since I started showing it. But all those awards pale in comparison to the joy of meeting and talking to people who have either owned a Maverick, have a Maverick, or wish they did have a Maverick. It's all about having fun and talking cars. I get some goofy comments about my car now and then too, but the good ones always out weigh the bad ones. Oh, and in most cases, the Ford guys tend to stick together no matter what kind of Ford they drive.:)
