I'm 14 and one half months away from putting my car in a brand new garage in Paducah Kentucky on a nightly and any time there is a the slightest bit of rain in the air.I'm fortunate enough to retire in that amount of time when i turn 55.We'll be moving down there and I have it all set up and ready to go.Sorry I've been vacant from the site. Here I come running to my experts in time of need.I live in Chicago.Fresh paint ,newly re-chromed bumpers with new Cragars.I need the BEST car cover you all have come across to get me through basically 2 winters.Any suggestions guys?Thanx as always,Bob

Don't know about the best but the worst and a company to stay away from is carcovers.com. I paid $150 and it didn't fit.Was way to short. Calif. car covers makes them to fit I have one for a different make that fits perfect. But cost allot more than $150. Keep me posted cause I still need one for the Mave.

I don't like the idea of a car cover over fresh paint, I would check with whatever paint company you used and get there opinion. I think you have to wait a little while before you cover fresh paint.

Whatever you use for a car cover, make sure it can breath and not retain moisture. During my previous career I ran into a guy that purchased one of Ford's last generation T-Birds. He took the car home and stored it covered in his garage over the winter. In the spring on taking what ever he used to cover the car off he discovered every piece of metal including chrome was heavily rusted. What a tragedy!!!!
He claimed all the metal on the car was defective and wanted Ford to cover it under warranty.
