I emailed the National Director of the SAAC about info on the Shelby Mavericks, and here is what he said:

    "Corbin:

We know very little about the Shelby Mavericks built in Mexico. Unfortunately, the guy who headed the project, Eduardo Velazquez, passed away a couple of years ago and with him went all of the details on this project. Apparently none were exported into the US. It is not known how many still exist today in Mexico. My guess is very few.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but as far as these cars are concerned, I'm afraid it's a dead end.

    Rick Kopec
    National Director "

I was wondering if anyone had heard anything else about these cars other than the info on this website. Are there any known still to exist? I know many of you are wondering the same, but maybe someone knows a litttle more. Thanks.

No new info. Hell, it took years to dig up that information. I don't think anyone is actively looking for one of these cars so i don't expect one to turn up anytime soon.

but would shelby himself know anything??

it may be worth an email or a call. You never know, it may perk his interest enough to get a reply from him

I just ran into carroll shelby at the knotts ford festivle last year signing autographs...I wonder if he will be there again this year??]

If he is, I promise to bring it up....

Cool, I was hoping to come down to Knotts Berry Farm this year, but I don't think it will happen. If you see him, and bring it up that would be great to see what he says.

I'll give it a shot...Last year the wait for autographs was 2 hours, so I never stood in line. I just kinda stood at the end of the table for a minute or two and stared at him like a dumbass. Not every day you see a living legend.

If he is there, however, I will ask him, I promise. I am going for sure to knotts.

I just sent a note to Shelby American in Las Vegas. Requested any info they may have. See what we can get.

Unfortunately we do not have any such information here and I'm not even
sure where to tell you to look for it.
Best of luck in your search.
