okay...I'm nearly at the point of re-assembling the front of my car. I have 70-72 era sheet metal (fenders, vallance, hood latch support, etc...) . there's a very nice 73 bumper at the local yard...will this bolt up with little/no mods to the body metal? futhermore, it's a comet bumper...but from what I can tell...starting at 73, there is no difference in bumper shape(?) just curious...I've always liked the look of the 73 (I'm a sucker for oddball years - besides it's when I was born) AP out
get the complete set up...i think the only hitch will be the notch in the fenders. i took the '73 off and put the '70-'72 on..frank...
I like the 73 for a musclecar look. The 70-72 look better as road racers IMO, the 74's and up well the rest of you can have em
Are there provisions in the '69.5-'72 frame to mount the heavy shock absorbing mounts for '73 bumpers? I went from '74 to '73 bumpers and the mounts bolted right up. I don't know if it's a bolt swap for '72 and earlier cars. There is an inner bumper inside of the '73 bumper. I left mine out because it was quite rusty and heavy as hell. I probably knocked 35-50 lbs. off by eliminating it. Just look out for deer!
