I have a 1971 MAverick that came with a bench seat but the previous owner put 2 front racing seats. I would like to keep the bucket seats any idea where I can find a pair or what other vehicles might fit?

    Thanks For your help
    Joe

If the car was a factory bench seat car there is no direct bolt in buckets. You put any bucket you want in a Maverick you just have to make them fit by making brackets and spacers. Do a search in the parts for sale or wanted section and you should come accross seats for sale. WARNING, they are not cheap!!!!!!(y)

If the seats you have in there are already level, keep those brackets, and mount any other seats you want onto them.

Hopefully, someone else has done the hard work of getting the brackets made for you.

I bought a nasty set of 1971 Mustang ginger colored high back buckets cheap on Ebay. I think I got them because nobody else wanted a set that ugly. Well----I went on to order a set of new black bucket seat upolstry from California Mustang, ripped off the ginger covers and am in the process of putting the new covers on. If the foam is still good, you could have a brand new looking set of seats doing it this way

You only need to drill 4 holes to get Maverick/Comet buckets seat tracks to fit into your car. The dimples may be there, they were just not drilled at the factory, along with the bolt hole supports not installed (simple fix, with large washers or just welding).

1971-73 Mustang (or Maverick/Comet, obviously) bucket seat frames will work for your car, but only the Maverick/Comet seat tracks will put the seats in the correct locations. Or, like SCooper mentioned, if the seats tracks have already been made, you may only need to find a set of bucket seats.

So, you can find a set of highback bucket seat tracks for a Maverick/Comet and grab a set of 71-73 Mustang highback buckets and be set. Plus upholstery if the seats need it.

Do a search for "bucket seat" and behold the glory of almost endless information. (y)
