hi guys, my dad and I are going to a local junk yard this weekend to look for some bucket seats and other parts. My question is what bucket seats will fit in my 2 door 71 maverick??

    thanks, Jakob

Not so much the seats fitting as it is to have the proper tracks and spacers.

    Hi Jakob,

"Correct" bucket seats for a 71 Mav (if doing a resto) would be highbacks that came optionally in Mavericks and Grabbers and standard in Comet GTs. They also share the same frame with 71-73 Mustangs and Cougars.

I have some frames for sale if anyone is interested. They need upholstery and I used Mustang Coupe skins that are commonly available. The skins aren't the correct Mav pattern, but they do have a nice factory vibe.

As mentioned the tracks are the hard parts to come up with. They are Mav-specific and there are no good substitutes out there. You will also want to stick with 1971-1974 tracks, due to later ones being modded due to the floor pan changing.

I am fuzzy as to when the Luxury Decor Option started. Those are plusher seats and the tracks that match them are a shorter height. I am using those tracks with my highbacks and gained some room. Good if you are tall.

Do some searches here, and you will get a lot more detail about all of this.

Once you get the tracks, many Ford seats will bolt right up. A great majority of them use the same seat-to-track bolt pattern, and still might to this day.
