So I just got my SS brake line kit for a 1970 maverick and the lines to the front drum are a foot to short ? My car is a 69 1/2 but that shouldn't be a big deal should it? The tag on the brake line say 1970-71 maverick grabber or 71 comet I am at a loss as why they are different. Part# FD1045 SS anyone have this problem with brake line kits?
I got them through the mustang shop but they got them from classic tube as they have the same part number? But lines to the front wheels are a foot short?
The only place I know of that sells pre-bent steel lines for a Maverick is Right Stuff Detailing. Can you post up some pictures?
70 Maverick used different brake line part numbers than the 71-74 Maverick. http://www.getdiscbrakes.com/lkt7001 and http://www.getdiscbrakes.com/lkt7101
I will post some pics Monday it is not the end of the world but it sucks when you order one thing and get another! It will cost more to ship back for return than it's worth to build some extensions or just make some new lines myself, which I should have just done in the first place.
So you can see the big difference in the lines I will just have to make a few or build a extension. But does anyone else's 1970 front left line look that short on a drum brake set up?
Ya I have lines from a 75 with disk brakes and they are almost the same length as the drum ones just a different turn. I think they may have got the front two lines to the brake from a different car all together but not much I can do ? But I thank everyone's input on the topic. Next time I will ask we're everyone gets there's from. Cheers
