    Another bit of info that I failed to get in the newsletter in time is this:

    1st Annual Round-up Nationals Bracket race.

    The track we will be using is 1/8th mile and this track will have a full staff of track workers on hand, just for us!
    They will be treating it like a regular program.
    * EMT's
    * Official starter
    * Time slips
    * Treating the track (Prepping it with VHT)
    * VP racing fuel for sale at the track
    * and hopefully by the time we get there they will be offering NOS as well.

    just like a regular program

    **They have also offered to let us have a bracket race.... "for those that want to participate" :bananaman :bananaman
    ***They are also donating 2 trophies.

    So including unlimited passes down the track. We will get those together that want to race and have a blind draw( round by round) for pairings. (faster car gets lane choice) dial-in, FIRST or WORSE format. We will have a 1st round buy back of $5 and a 2nd round-up buy back of $10, all of this money will go to the MCCI treasury. So, you will get to test & tune all night and then if you should choose to do so. Put your dial-in on your car and lets see who will be crowned the 1st ever Round-up Nationals drag champion!

    Its gonna be fun:D

    How many cars you gonna bring Ray? I think slower cars should get lane choice.

    Mavaholic, I'll only be able to bring one car and I'll have to trailer it. It's about 620 miles for me and I don't think I could handle that drive with 4:30 gears. So, you think you'll be getting lane choice over me, huh? :D

    Hope to see you all there. I've been wanting to make it there for a long time.

    not sure yet. quite a distance for me, but i'm penciling it in on my vacation schedule. usually take 2 weeks for the et finals, but this year it is local so i only need to take 3 days. best way for lane choice is either closest to their dial or et the round before. actually it shouldn't be hard for the track to run a ladder. :)

    Not crazy about the 1/8 mile though. Maybe we can race to the finish line, then turn around and race back to the starting line. Yea, I dont see a problem with that.

    Scrapper...I think that would be an awesome idea. I would certainly be coming up 65 through B'ham. I wonder how many people we can get together for this convoy. This would definitely make a much more exciting trip. (y)

    Man it tickles me to hear the talk about new faces coming to the round-up.........Please keep the enthusiasm!
    I cannot say it enough, whether you travel 150 miles or 1,500 miles it is a trip that is well worth making.

    Don,

    racing off a ladder is a good ideal, I just have a couple questions since I have never dealt with a ladder format before and this bracket is race is my baby,I will be taking care of it...
    1) do you seed the cars by times?
    i.e. Fastest qualifying run is #1 second fastest is #2,etc. etc.
    Seed them to where if #1 and #2 won every race they would meet
    in the finals?
    2) how do you work the buy-back racer back into the program?

    ** Around here they always let the faster car get lane choice....its kind of like getting home field advantage during the playoffs, the team with the best record(faster car) gets the advantage of playing(racing) where they want.
