seroiusly?.... hope you have a decent bankroll, have you seen the prices that boss 9 parts go for?, barring that, finding one, you get past that and youll need major surgery to fit it in the maverick, and more to beef up the uni-body(should you decide to keep it) to handle the added weight and power.

no, not a lot of detail here, but general info.

there is a guy on matts board that has one of the original boss mavericks from the early 70's , cant think of the racers name that ran it back then, maybe he can help?

It's been done, but it ain't easy. Lots of cutting and swearing required. The engine alone will probably cost $10K. There is a Boos block on ebay that's up to $1350 and will probably go for $3500 when it's done and a set of Boss valve covers that are up to $550 right now. Be a screamer thou.

You are talking about a boat load of work and an even bigger boat load of money. However, you would be close to having the ultimate Maverick. I can hear the ooohs, aaahhs, and the how much you want for its for now.

I always dreamed of a Boss 429. In high school it was Boss 429 this and Boss 429 that.......Guess what? I'm still dreaming. I thought my DOHC 4.6 was pricey to build. A Boss 429 would be one of my ultimate Mavs 4 sure. But a man can still dream can't he?

    BigBully-
I'd guess your swap will be at least as difficult as a Boss 9 swap if not more so.
Either one will be cool as can be though.

    Tube chassis?

If I am not mistaken the DOHC is even wider than the infamous Boss 429 motor so I am thinking of going with a full tube-chassis and using motorplates with eurathane frame mounts for steetability and optimum header clearance. I am also planning to run a turbocharger w/intercooler, so I want to set back the engine a ways to make room for them. I will be a challenge for sure. :)

I can't wait to see that!
I have a brother that lives in Bellevue, not too far from Omaha.
I've been thinking about going to visit him one of these days.
If and when I do, I'd love to see your car.

Courier11sec: Not much to look at right now. I've got a shell and an engine/tranny right now. I have a lot of previous commitments right now, so until I get enough time/money saved for the chassis there is little I can do other than some minor things, but if your ever in town just pm me and I'll let you see her at whatever state she's in. My cars not shy. :D

Oh don't worry, with how hard it to get me to leave town, you'll be all done by the time I get to your neck of the woods

The Maverick sure looks like a bigger car than a Mustang.. they are about the same size then? How'd they fit the 429 in a Mustang?
