I added a 73 2 door 6 cyl. Maverick to my collection. Can someone tell me where to start looking for the short in the wire harness that controls fuse #2 (courtesy, dome, glovebox, luggage compartment lamp, ignition buzzard warning system ). if I put a new fuse in position #2and hold the door switch in it won't blow. only when the switch is released it blows. Maybe warning user is shorted. Any suggestions welcome. Bob

Sounds like the door switch is bad.

That, or maybe the dome lamp wire is shorted? Isn't the dome lamp feed wire "screwed" down using one of the dome lamp housing screws, through a plastic insulator thing?

    This might help: http://1bad6t.com/Maverick/repair/pdf/73maverickwiring.pdf

The fuse that you are blowing is the upper right one, on the second page.
