What all would be needed to put a blower on my 302 v8. And about how much $$ will I be looking at. I have a mid rise intake and a edlebrock 4 barrel carb with a mild cam in it now. What parts should I need? And any idea how much added Hp would be added?

Just my .02 worth. To effeciently use the power boost of a blower/turbo, all engine components need to be matched to the output etc. of these devices. You could add on a small centrifigul type without much other changes, but it would actually be more for show than effecient hp increases. Serious blowers need lower compression pistons, stronger rods/crank, more fuel delivery and a ton of other add on's that are not cheap. For a fairly mild engine like you have already, I think a small NOS system would be more beneficial(even though I think NOS is not my bag). It all boils down to the questions of "How fast do you want to go and how much money do you have to spend?" There are a few fellow on this board that have done it and can really give you more accurate info and cost figures. Good luck and remember, experinmentation is the life blood of all real motorheads.

Thanks Old Guy those are the kinda answers Im looking for. I kinda figured I would need a lil more than just "bolting it on" But I belive i can get most the parts I will need for free. The tow yard just had a 302 come in that was pretty well built up. Just have to hope all fits is all :) and as for teh type of blower....to be honest I havent made it that far yet. Juss seeing what else I will need first. It will proably be mid summer before my son can afford to buy the blower.

The older 302 is not hardy enough for more than 3 or 4 pounds boost in stock form.
Comperssion is ok but pistons, rods not so good.
For centrifigal type blower you would be blowing either through the carb directly or into a box sealed around the carb.
Either way the carb has to be setup for blower use because of the pressure it needs to work under.
Fuel injection motors are much easier to work with but this can be done if you want it bad enough.

It depends on what you really use your car for. IF it is a track car, or you want to go fast, only occasionally, nos may be the answer. It is a PITA, nonetheless. lemme know if you want details, as I put a system in my Impala ss, and it is good for about 1 sec. in the 1/4. I ran the stock motor for a hundred or so passes, and not the slightest whimper. it was fine when we opened it up.

I also put a Whipple supercharger in the wife's (now daughter's) Suburban. We towed two Harleys, and the Burb, did not have enuff ass on the Interstate. We put headers, and a cat back, and it now does the trick. We put it on at 20k and it now has 120k and not the first problem. we did not change a thing, other than exhaust. Other than a slight whine, it is unnoticable til you put your foot into it. I have a Lightning with an Eaton SC, and at about 65k, no problem.

IMO, the sc is nice for everyday stuff. The NOS is never used on the Impala

Cheap turbo install. Initially, it was less than $300, turbo, headers, and all, but I added stuff later on that increased it to about $1000 total. Sure was fun, and best of all....you couldn't tell it was there until you smacked the throttle. Even then it was quiet, well...at least when the boost came on. While the turbo was spooling, it sounded like a Peterbuilt, but once it hit 5 or so, the motor started growling and the tires started making their tunes. Fun ride, especially smoking 'em at 80 mph (though dangerous!)
