I'm restoring a 71 Comet for my brother. It will be a GT clone. We have the hood scoop (even cut the hood to make it functional) but I need accurate dimensions to paint the black out area in front of the scoop.
I know a black line runs around the scoop as well.
Anyone know how wide the outside line is? How wide the space is between the outside line and the black out area? How far the black out extends from the scoop? What radius are in the corners?
I found some pictures on Google images but a top view is hard to find. Here are a couple I came up with. I can fudge in some dimensions but would like to be more accurate if I can.
    Thanks.

Not sure on the Comet, but I used 1/4" fineline tape to do my Grabber stripe on my Maverick. 1/4" gap, 1/4" stripe worked out good for me. I too asked for the proper measurements, but didn't get much help. Mine is not a true Grabber, so it didn't really matter if it was 100% correct or not to me. I took a copy of a Grabber hood pic and just guessed where it should stop.

Does anyone have an original Comet GT?

I used the search feature looking for this info too. No luck.
Doesn't anyone have a original Comet hood stripe they can measure?
Seems like something easy to do, a couple pictures of an original one with measurements would be perfect and would help out anyone in the future that needs this info...

    Thanks

Good luck with finding out. I started a thread once before with no results, even pm'd some members with no replies. I would also like this info.

Guys, between Doctor appointments tomorrow I'll see what I can do, that is if I can still move after the doc finishes with my lower back.
    :comet:

Mine is faded as can be and blends into the dark green, but I'll take pictures and describe it as best as I can. :camera:

    Guys,

Check the tech section. I just made an article that should help.
