I am going to get my exhaust extended out the back. I will be takling pics and will post them later, I'll also have pics for securing my hood so the battery doesn't walk away again
Good stuff. Not to be stereo typical but what kind of an idiot steals a mans battery in Arkansas?? Lucky he didnt get shot.
Sorry. the exhaust guy can't do it til Wed. Here are the pics of the security though. The last pic is of 3 interesting cars at the exhaust place with my car in the fore ground
The chain came for Home depot. 2 feet at $1.10 a foot. I changed the bolt that holds the hood latch and the chain lines up exactly with the hole below it. When you close the hood, the chain just falls in front of the radiator and out behind the facia. I took a piece of 1 1/2X 1 1/2 angle iron, drilled holes top fit the bumper bolts and one hole where the chain falls. Very easy to open and close the hood. If someone WANTS my battery again, they will have to bring more than a cresent wrench. They can get it but it will take time. more than they are willing to spend I bet. especially under the 2 spot lights
They are relly cool looking. I didn't look at them any closer than the pic. I donm't even know if they have motors. They both probably need a 302 roller.
Do you want the Tel #? I can get it for you E Q Muffler Shop 309 S Archibald Yell Blvd Fayetteville, AR 72701 Map (479) 521-5422
The chain setup looks gud. It's the easiest and cheapest way I know of. It does get in the way when workin under the hood. I suppose if u get tired of it u can always go to some kind of cable lock in the pass compartment. I recall some yrs ago there was a key cable lock going to the pass cabin; I don't know if that kind of unit is still available. It is a shame you have to go thru these changes but u have to do what's necessary to secure ur possessions. I like those Stude's, my brother has a 63 Golden Hawk he's had forever - he say's he will get it running this year. I don't think much is wrong w\ it. He's had heads done, carb rebuilt and new plugs, but did'nt change condenser or points and he wonders why it won't start. LOL There is a Studebaker meet nx month in South Bend, IN. We plan on going again this year.
you are right about the chain being in the way. I am ghoing to drill a small hole in the hood bracing and bend a piece of stiff wire to make a hook I can just slide the chain over
