Can someone tell me if I did or didn't make a mistake here. I have a 1972 Maverick grabber with automatic tranny and stock floor shifter. I ordered a 1 piece molded ACC carpet from Rock Auto. The choices were "automatic" and "manual". I chose "automatic" since I have an auto tranny. Now I'm thinking that was for a auto column shifter, not the auto floor shifter. I don't see much of a "hump" in the carpet near the shifter (also, are the standard tranny and auto tranny "humps" the same). If I did make a mistake, has anyone made a carpet made for "Automatics" fit an automatic with stock floor shifter. Or, should I send it back and order a carpet for a manual transmission. Thanks!
Steve, I ordered ACC carpet and I dont think they asked if it was auto or manual. I believe the tunels are all the same. My car was a manual that I turned into a OEM floor shift auto. You might want to get some jute or Dynamat. I found that the floor shifter had an odd shape that needed to be filled in to make the carpet sit correctly. Still never got it perfect. The driver's side fit nice. I could just never get the passenger front to lay down in a the upper corners. Micah
Thanks, good news ! I really did not want to send this back. I want a carpet, I'll work with it. My mistake. Rock Auto advertised 2 door automatic carpet. No idea why they mention automatic. Sort of like why they ask what engine you have when you need a light bulb.
